Basketball Recap: Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Central Catholic has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the O'Connor Panthers. The Buttons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in November of 2015.

It was another big night for Hagen Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards for O'Connor. Another player making a difference was Evan Herrera, who posted seven points and eight assists.

Central Catholic's record is now 15-5. As for O'Connor, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Catholic will host St. Anthony at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for O'Connor, they will look to defend their home court on December 31st against Marshall at 11:30 a.m. O'Connor is facing Marshall at the right time seeing as Marshall is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
