Basketball Recap: Sonora Gets the Win

While Sonora's win against Mason wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Broncos made off with a 64-63 victory over the Punchers. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Punchers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Wyatt Killough continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.4 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Aaron Segura, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Sonora smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Sonora now has a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Sonora and Mason will both be playing Reagan County the next time they take the court. The Broncos will host the Owls at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Punchers will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
