Pinnacle took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Buffalos 5-3. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 12-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Brody Howell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, AJ Jimenez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Vigil, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
