Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for Christ Covenant

Christ Covenant waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 41-23 win over the Community Christian Cyclones. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Cyclones are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Claire Carter, who posted four points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Pierce, who had three points and nine boards.

Christ Covenant's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Community Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Christ Covenant nor Community Christian have any future games scheduled.
