Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elizabeth). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mitchell Marauders a 24-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Cardinals have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aurelia Espinoza made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Elizabeth got a massive performance out of Larissa Wesbrook, who went 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles. The dominant performance gave Wesbrook a new career-high in hits. Olivia Vieyra was another key player, going 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a triple.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Elizabeth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Elizabeth, bringing their record for this year to 10-3. As for Mitchell, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Elizabeth will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against The Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. As for Mitchell, they will venture away from home to square off against Bennett at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
