Corunna gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Durand Railroaders by a score of 2-0. The Cavaliers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Railroaders, too.
Corunna never let Durand on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21.
Gracie Termeer paced Corunna's offense, picking up five kills. Termeer got some help from Hailyn Dietz and her seven assists. Rachel Steinacker and Mackenzie Lecureaux kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Coincidentally, Corunna and Durand will both be playing Perry the next time they take the court. The Cavaliers will host the Ramblers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Railroaders will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
