Volleyball Recap: Waukesha West Gets the Win

Waukesha West posted their closest victory since September 6th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Franklin Sabers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Waukesha West who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 16-14.

Among those leading the charge was Gracie Fregien, who had 16 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Franklin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Macie Keller had ten assists and three aces.

Waukesha West's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Waukesha West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Cedarburg on the 26th. As for Franklin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Menomonee Falls on the 26th.
