Tahoka has gone a perfect 4-0 against Smyer recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tahoka and Sundown, and Sundown kept the tradition alive. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Roughnecks 8-0 in the first quarter.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dante Garcia, who rushed for 76 yards, and also threw for 52 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Smyer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 20-6 to Plains.

Tahoka's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Smyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Tahoka has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 227.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Smyer, though, as they've been averaging only 43.7 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Tahoka against Smyer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcats' Rylan Smith, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Bulldogs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
