It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hilbert ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Reedsville Panthers 6-4. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 14-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kloehn Grace spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Hilbert's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alissa Fochs, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Hilbert is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Reedsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hilbert beat the Panthers by a score of 11-1 on Thursday.
