Baseball Recap: Davis Sr. Comes Up Short

Davis Sr. extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 22 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-20. They lost 8-1 to the Del Oro Golden Eagles. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Del Oro, they pushed their record up to 8-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 16th (when they won 15-3).

For Del Oro's part, they got a great performance from Brody Coxen as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. Coxen is becoming a predictor of the Golden Eagles' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 6-7-1 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Del Oro let Rusty Ducharme and Charger Allen run wild. Ducharme went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Allen went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Del Oro is 3-1 when Ducharme posts two or more runs, but 5-7-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Crosby Pilgrim, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

While Davis Sr. had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
