Softball Recap: Felicity-Franklin Comes Up Short

Felicity-Franklin had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Bethel-Tate Tigers, falling 19-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 18-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Lacee Easter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season. Alwxis Harless was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one double.

As for Bethel-Tate, they now have a winning record of 6-5. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

On Bethel-Tate's side, Maddy Harness made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Harness was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Jess Mahan was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ally Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Felicity-Franklin will face off against Georgetown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The G-Men have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.15 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bethel-Tate, they will square off against East Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
