Baseball Recap: Flagstaff Triumphs

Flagstaff was forced to take a big loss against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Prescott Badgers. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Badgers on Tuesday, they had to take a 14-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Brody Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cullen Callander was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Flagstaff's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Prescott, they moved to 12-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Flagstaff will take on Coconino at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Prescott, they will challenge Mingus at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Marauders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Badgers surely won't give up without a fight.
