Baseball Recap: Caldwell Academy Eagles vs. Carlisle Chiefs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westchester Country Day, Caldwell Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Carlisle Chiefs.
Charlie Plasman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Brett Bullins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Spencer McBurney, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Caldwell Academy's record now sits at 10-14. As for Carlisle, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Coming up, Caldwell Academy will head out on the road to challenge Westchester Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. Carlisle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
