Volleyball Recap: Plateau Valley's Winning Streak Snapped at 12 Games

Plateau Valley and Stratton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Plateau Valley had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Cowboys' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Vivian Arthur paced Plateau Valley's offense, picking up 15 kills. Arthur got some help from Lexi Taylor and her 22 assists. Lili Taylor controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Stratton was led to victory by Kaylynn Brandon and Camory Wedel. Brandon had 15 assists and 12 digs, while Wedel had 20 assists and 16 digs. That's the most digs Brandon has posted since back in September.

Plateau Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 22-2. As for Stratton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Plateau Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Granada on the 14th. As for Stratton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Fleming on the 13th.
