Baseball Recap: Van Wert Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Van Wert lost to Wayne Trace back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 7-3.

Hayden Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Briston Wise was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Case Stegaman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Van Wert was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.
