Basketball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the New Kent Trojans, falling 64-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-41 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why York lost, don't look at Sanaa White. Despite the final result, she posted ten points along with six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Aureliana Thorne, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for New Kent, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

York will welcome Poquoson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Kent, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bruton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Kent is facing Bruton at the right time seeing as Bruton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
