Softball Recap: Coon Rapids Comes Up Short

Coon Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Branch Vikings. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Bella Fowler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Pacey Olson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Coon Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for North Branch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coon Rapids will head out to square off against Hermantown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Branch, they will venture away from home to face off against Cloquet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
