Softball Game Preview: Sparta Trojans vs. Clever Blue Jays

For the second straight game, Sparta will face off against Clever. Sparta will host Clever at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sparta has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sparta is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 17-4 to Clever.

For Clever's part, Ava Mittag made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Mittag was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Clever got a massive performance out of Bailey Gaulding, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Izabel Hudak, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

Clever now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sparta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
