The Pecatonica Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Rockford Auburn Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockford Auburn took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pecatonica, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Pecatonica earned an 8-5 win over Eastland.

Ava Ackerman and Sammy Abate did most of the damage at the plate: Ackerman went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Abate went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Ackerman a new career-high.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Pecatonica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Rockford Auburn might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Guilford who claimed the real prize. The Knights fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 11-10. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
Maylee Baker put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Eva Ostergard was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3. Ostergard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. KayKay Hudson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Pecatonica is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Rockford Auburn fell to 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pecatonica has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rockford Auburn struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pecatonica took their win against Rockford Auburn in their previous matchup back in April of 2016 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
