Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Gets the Win

Mt. Vernon lost to Hudson back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Explorers by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

The victory didn't come easy: Hudson scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-27, 25-18, 25-22.

Mt. Vernon had a senior duo take command as Evan Komitau had 25 digs and three assists and Joey Ferguson had 11 digs and two aces.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Hudson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will square off against Bishop Hartley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hudson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Normandy on the 29th.
