Baseball Recap: Middle College Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Middle College and Kirby meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. Middle College came up short against Kirby, falling 12-5. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tyler Richards was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Middle College's record is now 1-4. As for Kirby, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle College will venture away from home to face off against Germantown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kirby, they will head out to challenge Overton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kirby's pitchers better be ready for this one: Overton has averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
