Football Recap: Oxbridge Academy Takes a Loss

Oxbridge Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were outmatched by the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers and fell 49-0. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, the ThunderWolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rico Buitrago, who rushed for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 75 yards and three TDs. What's more, Buitrago posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Another back making a difference was JORDAN OSBORNE, who rushed for 99 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Looking ahead, Oxbridge Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Olympic Heights at 7:00 p.m. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will venture away from home to take on The Master's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
