Basketball Recap: Rancho Cotate Cougars vs. Ukiah Wildcats
Rancho Cotate was the 75-56 winner over Ukiah when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rancho Cotate Cougars fell just short of the Ukiah Wildcats by a score of 47-44 on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Wildcats are ranked 787th).

Despite the loss, Rancho Cotate still got an impressive performance from Adam Pengel, who went 11-for-27 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. Pengel has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Korey Cook, who posted five points and seven boards.
Leading Ukiah to victory were Dareon Dorsey and Kaleo Olson.
