            Baseball Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes        
        
		
        
        
            It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lecanto had no problem doing just that  on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cypress Creek Coyotes as they made off with  a  9-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Coyotes  back in March, they had to take a  6-5  defeat.

The result came thanks to  Dylan Czerwinski's shutout, as he gave up just a  hit and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Lecanto's success: when he allows at  most one  hit the team is undefeated (and 5-16 when he doesn't).
 On the hitting side,  Luke Pitzer was a standout: he scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brenden Marcic, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
Lecanto has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-16 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
 Looking ahead, Lecanto will face off against Wesley Chapel at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7  runs per game  this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cypress Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
