            Softball Preview: Continental Pirates vs. Kalida Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Continental Pirates will head out to  take on the Kalida Wildcats  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Continental is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5  runs per game  this season.
Kalida will  challenge  a team with plenty of momentum: Continental extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Pirates came out on top against Holgate by a score of  5-2.

 Gracie Homier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those  17  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Maeci Dockery was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  run. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
 Meanwhile, Kalida suffered their closest  defeat since April 16, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Ottawa-Glandorf by a score of  9-7.
 Continental now  has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kalida, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
 Continental took their  win against Kalida  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024 by a conclusive  17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
