Mater Dei had won three straight games and Ava Lampe did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Knights came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights for which the team can thank Lampe, who had 15 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mater Dei had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Incarnate Word Academy had strong showings from Avery Buckley, who had 32 assists and eight digs, and Kendall Stroer, who had 12 digs.

Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mater Dei will welcome Breese Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they will take on St. Joseph's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
