Softball Recap: Seffner Christian Comes Up Short

Seffner Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Northside Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Northside Christian Mustangs by a score of 10-9. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tenley Newman stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Newman is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Biase, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Seffner Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Northside Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seffner Christian will face off against Foundation Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Seffner Christian their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Northside Christian, they will challenge Boca Ciega at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
