Volleyball Recap: Paint Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Peebles on Wednesday, Paint Valley came back down to earth. The Bearcats came up short against the Piketon Redstreaks on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Redstreaks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Paint Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

Karris Dye paced Paint Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Dye got some help from Hallie Rummer and her 15 assists. Mayah Collier controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Paint Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Piketon, they moved to 9-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Paint Valley will head out to challenge Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piketon, after both having extra time off, they and Oak Hill will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
