Softball Game Preview: Elk Grove Grenadiers vs. Prospect Knights

The Elk Grove Grenadiers will venture away from home to take on the Prospect Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Elk Grove fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Rolling Meadows on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6.

Jamie Wirtz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prospect). They were the clear victors by a 24-4 margin over Wheeling on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Prospect's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Elk Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
