Football Recap: West Grand Piles Up the Points Against Lake County

West Grand never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past the Lake County Panthers to the tune of 42-0. The Mustangs' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

West Grand was led to victory by Landon Lockhart and Blake Terryberry. Lockhart rushed for 162 yards and one TD on only five carries, while Terryberry threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Those 162 rushing yards gave Lockhart a new career-high. West Grand's leading receiver Sanjay Geffers was Terryberry's top target yet again, picking up 74 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Grand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 377 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to West Grand's defense and their five sacks. Terryberry was especially locked on to Lake County's QB and sacked him twice.

The victory was the third in a row for West Grand, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Lake County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

West Grand wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 20-14 victory against Plateau Valley on the 26th. As for Lake County, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-6 defeat against Hayden on the 26th.
