Basketball Game Preview: Oroville Hornets vs. Pateros Billygoats/Nannies

The Oroville Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Oroville is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Oroville was outmatched by Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian and fell 71-29. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Lions are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, Pateros came up short against Waterville on Friday and fell 62-49. The defeat continues a trend for the Billygoats/Nannies in their matchups with the Shockers: they've now lost five in a row.

Oroville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Pateros, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Oroville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pateros when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory.
