Softball Recap: Highland Triumphs

Highland's tournament run continued when they took on Clovis on Tuesday. The Scots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cougars 3-2.

Nevaeh Rodriquez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Highland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-5-2. As for Clovis, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Highland and Clovis could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Scots will square off against Hanford West at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (128 vs. 36). Meanwhile, Clovis (ranked 411th) will meet Clovis West (ranked 49th) at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
