Basketball Game Preview: St. Raphael Academy Saints vs. Rogers Vikings

The St. Raphael Academy Saints will square off against the Rogers Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Raphael Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: North Kingstown, who was ranked first at the time (St. Raphael Academy was ranked 16th). St. Raphael Academy came up short against North Kingstown on Friday, falling 60-35. The Saints have struggled against the Skippers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rogers didn't have too much trouble with Lincoln on Friday as they won 34-17. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Rogers pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points over those games. As for St. Raphael Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

St. Raphael Academy strolled past Rogers when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 47-31. Will St. Raphael Academy repeat their success, or does Rogers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
