Baseball Game Preview: Bosco Tech Tigers vs. Paraclete Spirits

The Bosco Tech Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bosco Tech has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight losses, while Paraclete will come in with three straight wins.

Bosco Tech fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mary Star of the Sea on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Stars.

Jaycob Ochoa made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paraclete). They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over Santa Paula on Monday. Considering the Spirits have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Joey Martinez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabe Villanueva, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Seth Magana, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Paraclete hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Bosco Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Paraclete, their record is now 16-4.
