Basketball Game Preview: Crossroads Christian Colts vs. Falls Lake Firebirds

Crossroads Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Falls Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Colts will head out to take on the Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Crossroads Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

On Saturday, Crossroads Christian took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-42 victory over Carrboro. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Crossroads Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Watkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine assists. Watkins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least five every time he's taken the court this season. Josh Smith was another key player, going 9-for-19 to rack up 22 points and six boards.

Crossroads Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Falls Lake ended up a good deal behind Louisburg on Thursday and lost 66-52. The defeat continues a trend for the Firebirds in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Falls Lake now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Crossroads Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Crossroads Christian against Falls Lake in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
