Baseball Recap: Edon Gets the Win

Edon came out on top against Paulding on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Bombers walked away with a 10-5 win over the Panthers. This was payback for the Bombers, who suffered an 11-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Corbin Chrisman and Kyler Sapp made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Chrisman tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sapp tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Chrisman has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Chrisman went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Sapp went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Edon is 7-1 when Sapp posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Korbin Olds, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Parker Moyer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Edon and bumps their season record up to 11-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Paulding, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Coming up, Edon will welcome Pettisville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paulding, they will head out to challenge Wauseon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
