Softball Recap: McMahon Comes Up Short

Staples hit McMahon with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Senators lost 8-2 to the Wreckers. The Senators' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

McMahon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Silbergleit, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Silbergleit has snagged this season.

McMahon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Staples, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McMahon will venture away from home to face off against Trumbull at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Staples, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Wilton at 4:15 p.m. on May 2.
