Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy lost against Thomas Jefferson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kennedy Commanders took a hard 67-51 fall against the Thomas Jefferson Spartans. The Commanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, don't look at Anthony Zink. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Benavidez, who posted six points and five boards.

It was another big night for Shane Curry, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 11 boards for Thomas Jefferson. That makes it four consecutive games in which Curry has scored at least a third of Thomas Jefferson's points. Luke Cuellar was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and four steals.

Kennedy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Thomas Jefferson, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Kennedy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-40 loss against Skyview on the 19th. As for Thomas Jefferson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-50 defeat against Valor Christian on the 19th.
