Quitman had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They breezed past the Simsboro Tigers to the tune of 53-23. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Tigers are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quitman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points over those games. As for Simsboro, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
