Basketball Game Preview: Aledo Bearcats vs. Fossil Ridge Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Aledo Bearcats duke it out with the Fossil Ridge Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Aledo got the win against Chisholm Trail by a conclusive 56-34. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 55-47.

Aledo is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Fossil Ridge, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Aledo skirted past Fossil Ridge 42-39 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will Aledo repeat their success, or does Fossil Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
