Basketball Recap: Washington Latin Public Charter School Lions vs. DC International Dragons
Washington Latin Public Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-25 loss at the hands of the DC International Dragons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-48 back in December of 2024.
DC International got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Moore out in front who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points. Kai Hegwood was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.
Washington Latin Public Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for DC International, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.
Washington Latin Public Charter School and E.L. Haynes will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. E.L. Haynes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for DC International, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Digital Pioneers Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Digital Pioneers Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, DC International a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
