Baseball Recap: Buckley Wins Going Away Against Coast Union

Buckley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Coast Union on Wednesday. The Griffins put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 14-4 win. With that victory, the Griffins brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Harry Pollack was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Adam Rubin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Buckley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Buckley back to even at 3-3-1. As for Coast Union, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Buckley will be playing in front of their home fans against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Griffins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coast Union, they will head out to challenge Valley Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on the 10th.
