Basketball Game Preview: Brenham Cubs vs. Lake Creek Lions

The Brenham Cubs are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Creek Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brenham has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-27, which was the final score in Brenham's tilt against Rudder on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Rangers are ranked 286th).

Antyianna Lang put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalaya Hancock, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lake Creek challenged College Station on Friday. Lake Creek fell to College Station 49-44.

Lake Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Brenham, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-20.

Brenham suffered a grim 43-23 defeat to Lake Creek when the teams last played back in January. Can Brenham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
