Basketball Game Preview: McKinley Bulldogs vs. Berea-Midpark Titans

The McKinley Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Berea-Midpark Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McKinley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Berea-Midpark will come in with three straight victories.

McKinley is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Brecksville-Broadview Heights on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. McKinley came up short against Brecksville-Broadview Heights, falling 75-50. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Bees are ranked 38th).

Despite the loss, McKinley had strong showings from Mya Taylor, who posted 24 points and three steals, and Ka'Myah Gisentaner, who scored ten points and five boards. The contest was Taylor's 15th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Sparks, who put up four points.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Titans on Wednesday. Berea-Midpark breezed past Lorain to the tune of 67-37. Berea-Midpark has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Berea-Midpark's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for McKinley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

McKinley came up short against Berea-Midpark in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 53-48. Can McKinley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
