Basketball Recap: Central Academy Takes a Loss

Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 40th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Piedmont Panthers and fell 65-35. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-17 back in January.

Piedmont was led to victory by Ashyln Pressley and Emily Lundquist. Pressley posted nine points and eight boards, while Lundquist scored 12 points. That's the most points Pressley has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charleigh Battle, who earned 14 points.

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Piedmont, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Central Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-23 defeat against Forest Hills on the 7th. As for Piedmont, they have also already played their next game, a 56-33 win against Anson on the 6th.
