Softball Recap: Bremen Comes Up Short

Bremen blew Rochester out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Rochester got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Zebras by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chrissy Grabowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Bremen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Rochester, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Bremen will welcome Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jimmies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rochester, they will venture away from home to face off against Northfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Zebras' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Norsemen have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
