Recap: Martinsville Bluestreaks vs. St. Thomas More Sabers
On Saturday, The Martinsville Bluestreaks faced the St. Thomas More Sabers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Martinsville took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Thomas More. Martinsville's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Martinsville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Victor Herrera. Despite the final result, he rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for St. Thomas More, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
