Softball Game Preview: Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls vs. Little Flower Catholic for Girls

Archbishop Ryan is a perfect 4-0 against Little Flower Catholic for Girls since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders and Ragdolls will host Little Flower Catholic for Girls at 6:30 p.m. Archbishop Ryan's hitters haven't had much luck over their past seven contests, but Thursday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Archbishop Ryan lost 9-2 to St. Hubert Catholic for Girls on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders and Ragdolls have lost by exactly seven runs.

Moira Maw was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Maw was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Little Flower Catholic for Girls fell victim to Conwell-Egan Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-0. The defeat continues a trend for Little Flower Catholic for Girls in their meetings with Conwell-Egan Catholic: they've now lost five in a row.

Little Flower Catholic for Girls' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Archbishop Ryan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Archbishop Ryan took their victory against Little Flower Catholic for Girls in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-5 score.
