Softball Recap: Calhoun Falls Charter Starts Season with Loss at Home

Calhoun Falls Charter unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Thornwell Saints on Friday, falling 20-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Thornwell and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Calhoun Falls Charter is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Abbeville at 5:30 p.m. on March 21st. As for Thornwell, they will square off against Whitmire at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmire's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Thornwell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
