Baseball Recap: High Tech SD Takes a Loss

High Tech SD had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 12-10 to make it five. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kearny Komets. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Komets earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Nano Acevedo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of High Tech SD's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Izo Kobayashi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Kearny, their record is now 11-17. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the match before.

On Kearny's side, Nicolas Hembera was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Hembera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Martinez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

As of now, neither High Tech SD nor Kearny have any future games scheduled.
